The New Theatre Scholarship Guild is bringing back MEET & GREET!
We will meet in the New Theatre & Restaurant Lobby at 6 pm for wine, soft drinks, and hors d’oeuvres and then at 6:30 pm, we will hear from our special speaker, Mr. Richard Carrothers, co-owner of New Theatre & Restaurant! This is a special benefit only for all New Theatre Scholarship Guild members.

The last time we did a Meet & Greet was pre-Covid, in 2019, for the upcoming show SHERWOOD starring Hal Linden!  Since actors are still not able to participate due to safety protocols, we have envisioned a NEW way to do Meet & Greets and showcase the talent … BEHIND THE SCENES! We will have three of these special events this season, and for our first, Richard Carrothers will be giving a talk titled “Dinner Theatre – 1972 to today!”

Richard is co-owner of New Theatre & Restaurant with Dennis D. Hennessy. Richard started his professional career as director of Missouri Rep’s touring production of Archibald MacLeish’s JB. Richard has taken on many roles since he, along with Dennis, opened Tiffany’s Attic followed by the opening of Waldo Astoria. Both theatres gained national recognition when the Wall Street Journal called the theatres “two of the most successful theatres, both artistically and financially, in the country.” More recently the national publication, DramaBiz, declared New Theatre & Restaurant “the best run theatre in the country. Period.”
